Mary M. Husband OBITUARY
Mary M. Husband, formerly of Kennett Square Mary M. Husband, age 91, died Saturday, April 23, at her home in Ashburn, Va., after a long illness. She was the wife of Joseph W. Husband, who passed away in 1992, and with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. Born Mary Margaret Rose McLaughlin in Kennett Square, Pa., she was a member of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church and attended Kennett Consolidated High School. During World War II, she joined the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), serving in Northern New Jersey and New York City. Mary Husband, a businesswoman and a teacher’s aide in the local school district until 1985, took an avid interest in horticulture and was a frequent visitor to Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square. She enjoyed many summer vacations in Ireland and in particular in Co. Waterford. Mary Husband is survived by a son, Timothy Patrick Husband, of Phoenixville, Pa., and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. She lived with another son, Terence John Husband, in Ashburn, Va. She was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Ashburn, Va., for the last 12 years of her life. Her twin brother, Thomas McLaughlin, of Kennett Square, Pa., died in 2010. Another brother, also deceased, Wallace McLaughlin, lived in Kennett Square, Pa., as well. There will be a Graveside service at 11 a.m. Friday morning, April 29 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square, PA.
